Dudley the Donkey was hard at work sending out e-mails to all his friends all over the world. He and his best friend Molly Moo had planned a big party in the middle of the jungle in Africa. This was going to be a party none of their friends were likely to ever forget! Even the animals who lived in the jungle were not likely to forget this party for years. There would be stories handed down from parent to child for generations to come.
E-mailing invitations to the jungle party was a lot of work because Dudley and Molly Moo had so many friends all over the world. Computers have made that possible today. We can have friends in parts of the world that we never would have known a few years ago. Bowser the hound dog got in his tub and took a special bubble bath just for the occasion.
On her farm and several close by, Molly Moo's job was to ring her big cow bell and call a meeting to let all the farm animals know about the party. That helped Dudley so he didn't have to send them e-mails. She also did the booking for the ship that would take the animals to Africa. Even Dudley's friends from the zoo were able to attend. This was starting to look like the best party ever!
When they arrived in Africa, Molly Moo became the "Welcome Lady". It was her job to sit on the fence and welcome everyone as they arrived at the party. Many of the people had gone all out to get all dressed up for the party. Bowser was looking very handsome with his top hat and cane. Jive Turkey, well he always looked very sharp!
Jive gave Molly a friendly peace sign as he arrived at the party. They are very good friends and have known each other a long time. Mr. Piglet, the chef for the party, arrived and was ready to get started cooking right away. He was obviously very proud of his barbecue and according to what everyone who ate his food said, he had reason to be!
Iggie, the ant, even caught a ride on the ship because he heard Mr. Piglet was cooking for the party. Proof that there was good food around was when Iggie the ant showed up at the party. Iggie could be found wherever good food was available. Some even said, if Iggie didn't show up you may as well go home because something must be wrong with the food. Well not tonight he was here and hauling off all he could!
Mr. Piglet was known for the best burgers anywhere! Once you have a Mr. Piglet burger no other burgers were ever the same. The next group of guests that began to arrive were the musicians. Dudley the donkey had a cousin names Hee Haw, he played country and western guitar. Dudley plays the sax so they have a very different style and sound.
Hee Haw has a lot of fans who love his country and western sound. Dudley plays some great rhythm and blues. A lot of musicians showed up at the party and things really started to rock. Wuzzy Fuz, a cat friend, brought his sax and he and Dudley did some great duos. There was even a cat that played great salsa trumpet and another a toe tapping fiddle.
This was becoming one of the best music concerts ever put on! Many quests were still arriving and the party was really picking up. Chef Piglet was cooking burgers as fast as he could and music was just getting better and better. In the forest around them the animals were coming nearer to see what was happening and listen to the music.
A monkey friend joined in to play guitar. That seemed to be the favorite musical instrument of the night. Everybody just called him Monk, he played a great jazz and blues guitar. Another old friend who also played guitar came and played some modern hard rock. His name is Edgar and some of you may remember him. We met Edgar before, he's "The Tender Hearted Lion Who Wanted to Be King."
Edgar might be tender hearted but had a big heart full of rock and roll music. He can play one great guitar! There was music for every possible type of music lover at the party. A penguin even came who played beautiful classical piano. A frog friend sat back relaxed and strummed a wonderful banjo. He was so good, he had a large audience in just minutes.
Poor Molly Moo's arm was getting so tired waving at all the new quests, she decided to get some popcorn, sit down and take a break. With all the great music, naturally everyone started to dance. It was quite a sight to see. Most had never seen some of these animals dance and it was really cute to watch. Molly Moo was having a great time!
There were lots of snacks and a cute chipmunk was having some potato chips while he watched some of the dancers. All the dancers had their own style and it was a lot of fun. The gator was having a ball. It seems everyone loves to dance so all the quests were having a great time!
Each one, the lama, octopus, the weasel and even the rat had a special rhythm. Jive Turkey was really getting down. You may remember our octopus, her name is Anora and she was in our story called "Oceans Have Butterflies Too." When Anora started doing her special spin it was so pretty! She always impressed everyone with her graceful moves.
Look who else was getting into the groove, our little chipmunk. He just couldn't stand there watching and eating chips for long before he had to join in the dancing. The music was just too good that night. Everyone found themselves do a jig before the night was over. Even Molly Moo got into the act.
You could tell this wasn't the first time Molly Moo had gone dancing. She had some special moves and really got into her dancing! Dudley had some fancy moves also, he and Molly Moo made a get couple to watch dance. One of Molly Moo's cow friends got a little excited and tried to pull off the cow jumped over the moon stunt.
She got as far as landing on the moon and started dancing. She was having lots of fun but the moon sure wasn't happy about it! Back down in the jungle a cobra snake was swaying to the music in it's basket. It seemed all the animals in the jungle were really enjoying the party. Even some of the natives were listening to the great sounds.
Suddenly, a little grasshopper began to sing and her partner played a beautiful violin. The song was a soft gentle love song. The whole crowd became quite and started to sway slowly together. Love was in the air all around. The night was going to end on a soft loving note.
The lama's were cuddling and love was simply glowing off them. The cute rhino's were snuggling up and it was obvious they were very much in love. Something about the beautiful sound the grasshoppers were sharing with everyone just seemed to bring out love.
A pair of pretty red parrots were hugging and really enjoying the song. A couple of white rabbits were nuzzling each other too. One thing this night had done was in some wonderful ways changed the world a little bit, hopefully forever. The night the jungle rumbled brought more love to the world in many small ways, lets try to keep it that way.
THE WAY PEOPLE TREAT THE ANIMALS IN THEIR LIVES SAYS MORE ABOUT THEM AS PEOPLE THAN ANYTHING ELSE THEY DO.
